okay... my computer got infected with this spyware and its really f-ing me up. i can't get rid of it with my yahoo anti-spy. and the spyware keeps advertising this antispy program that'll get rid of it. but of course its gonna cost an arm and a leg for me to buy their program that'll get rid of their own spyware. everytime i try to do a system restore... it says, "system restore has been turned off by group policy. to turn on system restore, contact your domain administrator." i tried system restore in safe mode but it still won't let me. help me please.

Ah, the joy of the fake anti-virus scam.
Don't buy it, by the way. That just gives them your credit card info. Often you can manually disable the program which is blocking your installs -- then you need to run an effective anti-virus/spyware/malware program, such as you'll find on MalwareBytes. Find the name of the scam program and Google it, someone will have identified the necessary files to attack/delete/deregister. If it hasn't installed itself as an icon on your desktop, look for it via Task Manager. |
