Now i bought the current Ebay header for the 94-99 celica which mine is a 96. Now my engine does have a cat but it is not off the exhaust manifold it is past the mid pipe, no worries there. Other than that it will take place completely of the one i have and everything looks like it will bolt on directly. The only difference is that the O2 sensor that they have on the ebay header has the bolt on style O2 sensor and mine is the screw in one. Also my current position is a lot lower on the exhaust manifold and reads all 4 cylinders where as the ebay header is on the left and reads only one cylinder. Someone has had to run into this. I know i could plug the bolt on hole by making a plate but what about my O2 sensor it would have to go much lower on the header to read all 4 cylinders? If I just keep it unplugged will it make my car run like crap?
Current Ebay Header Thanks in advance for the help |

yea, i'd say wrong description but just incase don't buy that one.
yes, you could relocate the sensor to read all the banks but it doesnt really matter. mine ran fine for years reading only two cylinders since they're the leanest two cylinders. you'd have to put the sensor much farther away than a non heated sensor should be which will cause more problems then just reading 2 cylinders. it'll take forever to heat up and respond too slowly that far away. the engine will feel a little 'off' and probably consume more fuel. i had my wideband down in the single pipe near the axle and it had a good .5 to .8 second response time, theres no where else to put a sensor since you'll be at the wrong angle to mount one or it'll be hanging down to be hit by road hazards. -------------------- |
