boxer engine noooo!!!! and with subaru, friggin horrible. Just when you thought toyota was starting to get back into the racing scene they decide to use subaru's 4 cylinder boxer engine. eww
![]() toyota needs to make another engine with yamaha. ![]() if the gt is going to be rear wheel drive, they should make some more horsepower, so that they can compete with the s2000. boxer engine noooo!!!! and with subaru, friggin horrible. Just when you thought toyota was starting to get back into the racing scene they decide to use subaru's 4 cylinder boxer engine. eww ![]() toyota needs to make another engine with yamaha. ![]() if the gt is going to be rear wheel drive, they should make some more horsepower, so that they can compete with the s2000. i believe that subaru should not make a car with toyota. subaru has a good thing going(yes making a car with toyota will give it more spotlight but subaru is a car people buy because its what they want(what i call the subaru lifestyle).) and to be honest i take subaru more seriously than toyota, toyota just seems to pump out cars to make money(in my opinion toyotas now are pretty bland like the camrys/corrollas of the 90's, they are soo focused on what honda/nissan does that they all end up making the same car IMHO) subaru on the other hand gives you a no BS car. they offer you what the car is; unlike a celica/tc/ civic si or any fwd "sports" car they just dont give you the "feel" of a sports car subaru delivers in my opinion great cars and they are only going to get better. toyota being the great company that it is has the abitlity to produce a true rwd sports car that will eat up anything gm, ford, could possibly make. imo the toyburu or w/e its called is a bad idea for both companies. toyota has the ability and more importantly the capital to make it happen. i hope toyota does make a true sports car and im waiting for that day. sorry if i offend anyone its just that like both companies but subaru is just special to me. ![]() |

Hense a RWD toyota version...... and from what ive read they will look different just share the same chassis..... so for those that wish to ... it would be quite possible to then turn the celica into a 4wd weapon......using the subaru gear.. as it's made for the same chassis....... massive plus for those in the modding business..... -------------------- st184 3vz-fe convesrion complete

Hense a RWD toyota version...... and from what ive read they will look different just share the same chassis..... so for those that wish to ... it would be quite possible to then turn the celica into a 4wd weapon......using the subaru gear.. as it's made for the same chassis....... massive plus for those in the modding business..... im aware of toyota owning i belive 18-20% of subaru, its just that id rather not see it happen even if its a celica. toyota has the full potential of building great sports cars on their own like the supra it was and still is a good true sports car. have they forgotten what it took to make the supra? toyota is a great powerful company that could easly make a better car than subaru, have the engineers/designers forget how they made gt4's/mr2's/supras? toyota has the experiance to create their own sports car. subaru should stick to awd its what they do best. i would not drive a subaru with a toyota badge. what about lexus they make great cars maybe toyota should look into stripping down and redesigning it. its a great base for a toyota sports car. plus the competition between companys is what truly improves a brand. were would the sti stand with out an evo, supura/rx7/3000gt/skyline they are all responses to one another the merging and cooperation of companies is good for business but bad for the cars, in the end there would be less sports cars offered, and it would dilute a companies full potential.
