Hey guys this weekend I've been trying to put in my new clutch got everything unbolted got the new flywheel resurfaced and got the new clutch and pressure plate bolted on but I can't get the tranny back in. I tried bench pressing it in but because of how the angles are I can't get it to align with the spindle any tips into getting that thing back in ?? I think I'm doing good so far first time installing a clutch and how much does the s54 weight I heard 95lbs but I think its more.

I usually balance the thing on a 2x4 on a floor jack, from there I carefully raise it up and slide it over the input shaft, then I slowly inch it into place rocking it back and forth on the way. Once you get it in far enough to touch the little guide posts/holes it's cake, just adjust the height of the jack up and down till it pops in.

You used the alignment tool to get a perfect line for the shaft right? Sometimes if it gets hung on the shaft rotating the trans ever so slightly can do the trick. BTW i never need assistance when doing it this way and it's not very tiring either.

I tried balancing it on the jack too but I couldn't it keep from falling over I just hate how its so cramp in the engine bay too and yes I used the alignment tool and greased everything also used thread locker on the flywheel bolts and torqed to specs thanks for the advice.
