We'll i just picked up a 170 Degree low temp. thermostat for my 3s. I was wondering if anyone else was using one and how they liked it. I bought the Gates 170 Degree Thermostat, looks like a quality thermostat, hopefully i can put it in tomorrow, but i wanted to post up on here first and see who was using one and how they liked it. not just the 3sgte but the 5s, 7a, any motor.

Anyone running one of these with an aftermarket radiator? I have the standard radiator at the moment but looking to replace it (because of a crack in the top plastic) with a full aluminum unit. Sometimes when boosting on the open road when its a cold night, my car is accelerating so fast that my gauge drops from half way to just a quarter meaning my radiator is getting some serious ram air. surely this cant be good for the car? when i go back to cruising at a constant speed the needle goes back up to half way. I'm sure the upgraded radiator will also intensify this, Would the TRD thermostat be beneficial or detrimental in this circumstance? With the stock cooling system the needle has never gone over half way even when boosting on a hot day.. should be fine, if the coolant in the rad gets too cold the thermostat wont open just like any other time. -------------------- ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four, #61 of 77............600hp GT3582r
