It is called a V-band T3/T4 turbo kit IMO, anything more than 10 PSI on the stock 2.2 is too much. I personally wouldn't push more than 8 PSI. Compression ratio is too high for anything over 10 lbs. $250??? that's cheap..real cheap. Is it used? Ebay? You have a link? -------------------- -Jay

how bout 19.5 psi? fail ...if you're trying to be funny, don't you mean 9.5 PSI? lmao. last i checked, i didnt notice that you had a 5sfte, so how would you REALLY know whats safe on a 5s, and whats not? other than what you've read on the intranets. i run ~ 17-18psi, every day. 19+at the track. i've build more 5sfte's than you've prolly ever seen. read my sig, my 5sfte makes 300+whp. i've run 13.6 @ 108mph..what have YOU done with your 5s? ohh wait, youve got a 3rd gen swap. i've done a couple of those too. and a couple 2nd gen swaps. big deal. still think i fail or am trying to be funny? -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

I seriously thought you were trying to be funny, I didn't know the 5s could handle anything near 20 lbs with it having that high of a compression ratio. I guess I should have spent more time on 6gc before yanking the 5s for a 3s. I'm not trying to say I'm a know-it-all, but I've been "around the block" on cars, tuning school, engine swaps, used to work at a garage, grew up around muscle cars with my dad..blah blah. I've never liked the idea of turboing a stroker, unless its a V8 or V6 with a lower cr, I would rather turbo a car with a square or slightly oversquare crank, which is why I threw out the 5s, it just doesn't seem safe to turbocharge, maybe if the cr was lowered, added forged pistons, and replaced the head then I would feel safe about doing it. If I had known I could put 300hp to the wheels on stock internals I would have probably kept it. I usually look at the 500+ numbers in building an engine though. Can the 5s put that out safely, even building up the stock internals? My current goal is 600 hp at the wheel with the Gen III, and I believe I can do it. I usually aim high though. No more arguing bro..how about a simple correction ? What was the other thing we were arguing about a month ago? No more arguing bro..how about a simple correction ? What was the other thing we were arguing about a month ago? FIRST off, i want to clarify i'm not trying to be an asshole.. i just am one. secondly, i'm not trying to pick a fight, just flipping a biscuit because i don't fully understand what you're going for on here... dude.. are we talking AWD or FF??!? 600whp on FF is PROBABLY not such a good idea.. you'll have to deal with torque steer, you'll need to worry about your control arms, and the rest of the steering assembly... not to mention your power-steering pumps (and the rest of the whole dealey).... and what happens when your power-steering goes out pushing that much power? i'm assuming if you have that much power, you're going to be going FAST..... my goal is only 500whp on FF in my GT, and that's really only to say "i have 500whp" and also to guarantee i can easily get up to 400whp without a hiccup...... and that's with a rev3 3S-GTE, forged internals, COMPLETELY built up, and either a Borg Warner or custom turbo.... now going AWD, i've seen people get up to 600-700whp online before, but never seen this in person... good luck if you're wanting to push that much, let me know how it works out.... (also - let me know what turbo you have to use and how baldy it lags)... also: what ECU (or piggyback) are you planning on using? how much money do you intend to spend? do you already have your mods planned out? |
