The reason they are not cheap is because it costs thousands of dollars to produce such a kit
you are paying for the work and tooling involved It's just like for example when you buy a blitz exaust which woul cost over $1000 (in the uk anyway not sure about US) you think that it's stupidly overpriced, surley a bit of steel does not cost that more than $50 trade and labour not more than another $50 you would probably be right.... but why you pay so much is because of the cost of superior design that went to producing the prototype which costs thousands and then the thousands spent on the tooling and machines to produce that prototype so that more will be able to be made for the retail market etc etc.. with these lights for axample the cast alloy block of the prototype which the special plastic is moulded on that just by itself cost in the reigon of $4000 all in all imagine investing approx $30,000 to produce these lights and the risk you take for your business to produce this kit hoping that you sell enough to just break even before you even make a profit... and you will understand why some aftermarket items cost so much money aside for paying for the quality of the item and the materials to make it you have to take into consideration the amount of research, time , labour etc.. involved to manufacture a retail item never done before. another one, why are veilside kits so much more than say a cheap copy of exactley the same kit which retail's at a quater of the price of the veilside!!! fibreglass which is stupidley cheap and moulds of fibreglasss cost peanuts arn't they making a huge mark-up compared to other copy kits??? No because they were the first to produce them and they spent $$$$$$ developing, designing, making sure it fits perfectley etc... and they have to recoup that cost which reflects in the price of the retail kit whereas copy company just buy a kit where all the work has allready been done and take a mould of it and pour in some cheap fibreglass and voila.. they have a the same kit at a fraction of the cost... Comprende people.... maybe now you understand a little about the price of these lights.... |
