I asked a mechanic to quote me on how much it would be to do the swap and he told me he didn't want to do it cuz it was too much work lol. How much more do you have to do compared to a straight swap with another 5sfe????? Anyone out there interested in doin a swap????

Anyone out there interested in doin a swap???? as far as removing the old motor, and installing the new one, they are exactly the same. figuring out how to get the beams harness thru the firewall, and doing the wiring are the only diffrences. everything mounts up the same way, in the same locations, as far as the motors are concerned. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

So the A/C lines are all in the same place and the power steering stuff too? The mechanic was more concerned about the vac lines or something like that, do those have to be replaced? |

The mechanic was more concerned about the vac lines or something like that, do those have to be replaced? the gt ac lines bolted up on dustin and steffs car, as well as the power steering. the only vac lines that go from motor to chassis are the brake booster, and the charcole canister. your mechanic is being shyed away by the fact you wanna install a motor that he has never seen or prolly heard of. most normal, everyday mechanics would say the same things. i never, ever recommend having a normal mechanic do these kind of motor swaps, it almost always turns out bad in one way or another. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
