Well like the topic says...I had a member here that tried to rip me off. But there was a discussion on the board a while back that got quite heated as he was saying ho he wasn't ripping me off and such. It was his name was Jason and he was selling some intrax springs. I sent him the money and then he started making excuses as to why he didn't send the springs, he sent the springs yesterday, etc.
Well it turn out he never sent out the springs so I asked for my money back. Well that went on for a while with "the check is in the mail" and such. Mind you, this has been going on since Sept 10th! We I got fed up as I saw that he was not going to make good on his promises. Man do I hate people who try to ripp people off because the believe that they can just take persons money because a buyer can't really do something about it because they are across the country and hiding behind a computer. Now, the principle of the whole matter became my interest...not the money. I was determined to make him give me back a full refund some way or some how. So, I got my attorney and told them waht happened. They open a case and sent him a nice letter basically telling him he had to send me my money within 10 days or we move forward with a law suit. Needless to say, he responded real quick with an email to me He didn't want any legal action and was gonna send me my money...I didn't believe him, but whatever. Actually I wanted to sue him in small claims court just for the satisfaction...maybe Judge Judy or something Well, I get a call from my attorney this morning...guess what...there is a cashiers check waiting for me for my money at their office Buying some springs off the internet...$140.00 Getting an attorney...a few $$$ Making a person squirm who tried to rip me off...PRICELESS P.S. I wish I was there when he got the letter so I could see the look on his face |

i also hope both money orders have GT-4's name/address/etc PRINTED on them, and clearly state that they sum of 140 on the reciept is to be paid to him. then you need proof that you SENT them. just having a reciept is not enough. the only way you could win this jason is if you had tracking numbers, or delivery confirmation numbers. otherwise, it's your word against his, and seeing as how you sent the 140 when pressured, why would they believe that you sent it before that. reciept or not, if i sent the money, and was pressured, i would have not sent the money again. you will have a very hard time winning such a trivial dispute when merely 2 reciepts. there is a lot more that you have to prove, and seeing as how you think you are so competent in laws, what in "welcoming him to the legal game" and gonna give him a lesson in "REAL law"...either way, this whole situation could be avioded if people wouldn't be stupid and a) buy from people that are obvious risks, b) use TRACKING NUMBERS and c) use effective transactions of money such as paypal or the like. none of that was used, so it's going to be VERY hard to change the outcome.
