The salty UK roads have finally taken their toll and my 1998 Celica needs a new exhaust. It is blowing really badly somewhere in the mid section. I haven't jacked it up yet to see just how bad it is or whether it is before or after the cat, but am already starting to think of my options.

I've read masses of threads both on here and celica-club.co.uk and so far am thinking of the following:

  • OEM isn't worth the money
  • definately not blue flame or mongoose as I don't like the twin exit
  • possibly powerflow
  • possibly longlife
  • possibly HKS but expensive
  • possibly custom job

Over axel and full stainless are musts and I'd dearly love to have the exhaust tip in the centre of the rear bumper but not sure if that is realistic. I don't want anything loud (expecially at low revs), just nice sounding.

So can anyone suggest a good fitter near me, and any recommendations on manufacturers?

Hey mate. Where are you located. I am from the UK and like you (check my FB) I have a turbo SR, and 2.5 inch stainless down pipe and stainless system. I hate it's crap.

So, enter a new carbon fibre tailpipe with removable silenser (£65), Magnaflow Sports Cat (£99) and I will be going to pipecraft for my man Dean to hook me up with a system. I also want a resonator after the cat so it loses the rasp and saves the noise for when the loud pedal is beyond 50%.

If you are in the south, holla at me.

Here are my goodies.
