Want info on converting interior lights - climate control button lights, to LED's.
Looks like there are already LED's in there but they are green. Want to change them to blue and red. Anybody done this, is the voltage already stepped down for the LED's?? |

Many people have done this, and I've done it too. The bulbs behind there are standard 3v LEDs. I put blue ones behind there.
Be careful though, the lenses are green, so the blue light comes out a slightly different color. But, it's nice and easy, and desolder the old ones, and resolder the new ones. You'll want to get 3mm lights and not 5mm lights, and you'll probably have to file them down on the edges to make them fit, I just used a piece of sand paper. The other bulbs in there that provide the backlight are 12V bulbs, and you'll need to use a resistor in there. |
