Toyo proxey 4's suck in the snow..., anyone else? Options

yeah, the proxies 4 aren't great tires. all the subaru guys i've talked to that had them hated them and a couple years back i remember reading either car and driver or motortrend, but they rated kuhmo and hankook tires over the toyos. you can say that they would not be on my list of tire options. you may want to take a look at the bf goodrich traction t/a tires. i've used them to drive up to montana in the snow and i use them down here for rallyx in the dirt/mud. good price and good performance. i won't say they are the best tire in the snow, but for a non snow tire, they do ok. my recommendation would be for you to score an extra set of wheels and grab some winterforce snow tires. the winterforce tires will run you around $60 each in 15" sizes from tirerack and are a great tire.
