CURRENT with painted wheels:
I figured I might as well start a progress thread since I have a lot of spare time at the moment. When I first bought the car it was just a form of temporary transportation until I could find something newer, until I found this site o_O. I stumbled across the car on autotrader.com and couldn't help but notice the perfect condition it was in. Perfect paint, pristine grey leather interior, and flawless under the hood. I was only tentative because of how little power it had, but it gets great gas mileage so that's a plus. I first fell in love with 6th gens playing gran turismo 1 back in the day, and always wanted to have a gt-four. Here are a few photos since I bought her about a year ago: New wheels: In desperate need of spacers/better offset: 20mm spacers installed in the rear, along with clear sidemarkers and corners: lowered on megan springs and KYB shocks w00t Lacking front flushness, in need of spacers: The other day installing new speakers: New shift knob + 7th gen short shifter Much more to come. Lately I've also been wondering why the front of my car sits so high compared to the back o_O
The megan springs are supposed to lower it 1.6" front and 1.4" rear, but the front only appears to be about 0.8-1.0" lower. Any thoughts on why this is? Is it because the 7afe weighs less than the 5sfe, making the springs settle not as low? I know for a fact it weighs about 100-150 lbs less than the 5s.
