when swapping the engine in an ST does the tranny have to come out too?
my problem: I'm trying to preplace my st engine and EVERYTHING is detached but the block is got coming apart from the tranny all the way. there's gap all around the block n tranny to the point where i can see the flywheel but that's where it stops. n that's where i am stuck. |

Do you have an auto or manual? If you have an automatic trans there are bolts holding the flexplate to the torque converter that have to be removed. You can do this by rotating the crank and viewing the bolts and removing them from the dust cover located where the oil pan and the tranny meet. If you have a manual transmission you may be getting hung up on the input shaft or one of the dow pins in the tranny. Feel free to pm me or post if you have any other questions. |
