Has anyone installed green EBC stuff brakes?
I was looking to upgrade as the front brakes need replacing but was wondering if i'd notice much improvement. I can get standard brakes and discs for £50 through the company i work for, so im getting quite a saving, is it worth paying the extra for performance parts? |

not a fan of ebc pads. true the yellow and reds are supposed to be a good performer on the track and at autox, but for daily driving i heard it takes a while to get them to work well and you have increased stopping distance until they get warmed up. as far as the greens go, i had a friend with them on his stage 4 wrx and my stock srt4 brakes were out performing his green stuff pads. we went for a canyon run and he had to keep pulling off to the side of the road every 3-4 miles to let his brakes cool, where my stock brakes were just fine.
later i upgraded to powerslot slotted rotors and hawk hps pads and i really really liked them. i cannot recommend them enough if you are looking to upgrade your brakes, but don't want to go with a big brake kit. never had brake fade with them once and i drove my srt hard as hell in the canyons. the price was good for the hawk pads as well, like $60-70 for the fronts. another great thing about the hps pads were that they were perfectly fine to drive around town and not have to worry about warming them up to make sure you stop in time. they also had about the same if not a little less brake dust than the stock pads, even when driving the car hard. i know my friend with the wrx always had a lot of brake dust on his oz wheels from the ebc greens. |
