I just had my windshield replaced after a friend's new years joke went sour. Since it was replaced, I noticed that my dash seems like it rattles more than before. The only thing I can think would have changed was if the dash was pressing against the window before and now it's not. When I reach down the dashboard to where it meets the window, there is a decent gap and I'm wondering if the gap is normal?

I do have to get it replaced again (there's two significant ripples in the glass and they are gong to replace it for nothing) so I wanted to know how close to the windshield is from other peoples dashboards? Do they touch or is there a decent gap?

Last year we had a ton of snow and some friends buried my car completely in snow. Took forever to get out. It was impressive.

this year we didn't have much snow but they tried again anyways. They used snow shovels to take all of the snow off my friends lawn and dumped it on my car. One guy hit the windshield with the shovel and left a huge gash right at eye level on the drivers side. (They are paying for it)

I would say the gap is bigger than 1/8 of an inch, more like 1/4. I should ask him if they dropped anything down the vent. How the heck would I get in there to look at it? It's so close to the glass to begin with. I've never tried to take it out.
