Greetings from the Denny's in Kelso, WA
So I met the guy at 11:15. Right away I was able to sum it all up - disappointed. Let me list my findings: - Front bumper has very little paint left. - Passenger side skirt is MISSING - Cobwebbed paint on the hood, back and front bumpers - Dash is cracked - CD player was stolen, console trim is fubar'd - Ashtray missing - Amp and sub were stolen from the back - Alarm doesn't work anymore - Driver side window WAS smashed in. Brand new window with no tint. - Owner prior to this guy "installed turbo pistons and cams" with no documentation - Driver side front splitter is trashed - Tag inside the door from DOT says the car has been inspected by State Patrol and has a rebuilt title - yet the actual title has no brands on it? - Paint is completely faded. Super light yellow paint now. - Typical cam tick that 20V's do, but a little louder than I remember - Needs new clutch - Burns a quart of oil every 800ish miles - All of the front end body panels are misaligned. The hood is rubbing the drivers side fender, the passenger fender has been pushed in, making it look like the door is protruding out. I don't know what to say. I WISH I could say the car was in okay condition and I'm driving it home now, but I can't. I honestly had to walk away and reassess the situation. I want this car SO BAD, but it needs a LOT of work. It needs a complete paintjob, and new lip kit. DoGGy's TRD skirts would need to be replaced - and where are you going to find those? I offered the kid $2,000, but I don't know... It needs about $3000+ in repairs just to get it to a good starting point. There is something wrong with the motor too. I know 20V's have no torque, but I couldn't get the motor over 6,000 RPM. It just struggled. All in all I am really disappointed. The kid didn't disclose A LOT of information about the car, and now here I sit - eating my Meat-Lover's Trio and drink my cherry limeade and sulk in utter disbelief. I slept very little last night in anticipation of driving it back home. I got my hopes up, only to be let down. Sorry 6GC, but Bonnie and I are going to have to think about this purchase. I snapped some pictures that I will post when I get home, so you can see the state of the car. It's sad. And now I will finish my poor quality breakfast and make the 2 and a half hour drive back home, disappointed. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money
