Some members are requesting a Celica of the Month thread in lieu of the Featured Ride being changed to a quarterly instead of monthly honor. So, anyone who would like to can post their Celica's info, along with some pictures. A poll will eventually be created for members to select their favorite submission. So, having established that, let's start the submissions for March Celica of the Month!
Everyone is free to post below. What we want to see is the inspiration behind the car, let us know how it came to be the way it is now. Where it's been, and where it's going is just as important as where it is now. A poll of all submissions will be created from those posts. Entrants can vote for themselves, but NO ONE should be going in and making new accounts to add votes. If this is found to happen the moderators will disqualify ALL votes made by that person. Good luck, and go! I support those rules. Seems fair to me.
I've got absolutely no chance of winning, but this is the last month I'll actually have the Celica, so I might as well just put it out there. I picked my first Celica up when I was 16 and had it 5 months to the day before a deer totaled it out. It took me 2 months and a 3 hour one way drive to pick up my '98 GT. It was a one owner lease car, and the previous owner had no mechanical skill, so I've spent the last 3 years as a poor student, struggling to find a balance between fixing the previous owner's mistakes and not spending all of my money on the car. I used to hate the car because of how much I had to fix it and how much I had to spend on maintenance, but now I love it for the same reason. My plan for the car was to keep it clean and swap a 3rd gen 3S-GTE into it, then drive the car until it absolutely could not be driven anymore. Despite no chance of winning, here's the picture.
