I found a video of a guy with a 5th gen Celica Alltrac that swapped in a v6 & kept his car AWD. Probably old news for a lot of you but it was new to me when I saw it. The video is here.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/176894/gt4_alltrac_v6/ The search function on here doesn't let you search for two or three letter words so V6 + AWD doesn't come up with anything. I'm sure that the guy has to hang out on one of the forums, either here or Celicatech, alltrac.net, GT4oc or one of the MR2 forums. Any one know him, or have additional info on the car. I'm interested in seeing the challenges associated with this swap. A supercharged or twin turbo V6 GT4 would be awesome. I'd love to see more. Please don't flame me for asking? I did try to search. |

Am I missing something? What's the benefit to this over the 3sgte? Just seems like a lot of trouble for a car unless of course you wanted the same stock HP (Turbo) as a N/A car. That's all I can think of (so educate me please). Turbo'ed HP from an N/A platform. Less worries about over-boosting or blowing up your motor. No turbo lag. regular unleaded instead of premium gas. Bragging rights. Thats all I can think about right now. I wish I could retire so I had time to do this kind of stuff. only 35 years to go. x2 pretty much agree. plus the option to (twin)turbo later. that is... if you can find the room. lol -------------------- proud =3sgte SWAPPED= '95 Celica ST owner [calling it the GT2 or half-trac]
