so, originally i was supposed to get a 1600 watt 2 ch amp but the guy was sold out so he gave me a 1000 watt amp and told me to come back to exchange it when he gets more in supply. so when i go to exchange it, he gives me a 1200 watt amp but he says its mono block power. does anyone know the difference between the 2? thanks

Monoblock amplifiers are 1 channel amps; should only be used for subwoofers (meaning your bass alone). 2 channels amps you can use for your bass as well, but you can also use the 2 channel amps for mids & heights. You can't use the 2 channel amps for bass and mids & heights at the same time, but the amp is capable of doing both. For future reference as well, if you want to run an amp for you car speakers (mids & heights), you should run a 4-channel amp. This amp consists of 4 outputs, for 4 speakers making it a lot easier to run amp outputs to four speakers without bridging speakers and pushing lower ohms.
