I'm heading over to Sweden and Finland for a little over two weeks in April and just had a quick question for any one living in either Sweden or Finland, or any other european country. When I was in France about 4 years ago, I bought license plates from a vendor at a local supermarket. They were just vanity plates (not registered) to bring home for sovineers. Can you do that in other countries too?? The place I got them made was a shoe repair/watch repair place at the exit of a groecery store. He stamped them right there on the spot.
Main reason I'm asking is I want to collect a plate from every country I visit when I go over seas with my SN on it. So far, ive only got one from France, but REALLY want to get one from Finland. Thanks Also, if any one wants to meet up at some point during my trip. I'm leaving for Stockholm on April 14th, getting there on the 15th, then going to Gothenburg, back up to stockholm, then Helsinki, Lahti, Jyvaskyla, Tampere, Turku and back to Helsinki. |

PM Penkka..... Im already here! Hate to bring it, but you cant get finnish plates without registering a car.. There are those vanity plates that has something "funny" written on to them, but they arent like the real finnish plates, which are 3 or less letters-3 or less numbers. So its possible, that someone is driving around Finland with a plate that says VAL-0! But lets keep in touch about your trip, I live 15 miles from Tampere. Id be glad to show some Finnish specialities that are worth experiencing. -------------------- |
