I saw a few pics of the hood gap with the GT-4 hood on a USDM and truth fully I kinda like it. It may seem half assed but I just find it attractive kinda seperates the body.

The only reason they would have to paint more then the bumper is if the paint is faded or the car is a custom color, otherwise they would paint the entire car, it would look retarded if you went half way up a quarter panel or hood. one reason could be like you said, the paint maybe fades differently on the plastic then it does on the metal which would make sense since the poly-ethalene/Urethane bumpers flex slightly under stress like wind and what not. Another reason could be that the bumpers were painted in a seperate location and maybe didnt get the same amount of coats. |
