Supplements are a waste of time IF... IF you also eat right. If you eat right, you won't need supplements. That's why they're called supplements. They supplement your diet. Its true. You can't build muscle without some form of protein. So eat some meat. The only way you should be supplementing protein is if you're a complete vegetarian. If you start eating too much protein, it doesn't DO ANYTHING except pass right through and make your farts extra stanky. That's when you're literally s*****g your money away. Anything else out there has NO science behind it at all, and may have more side effects than the manufacturer even knows about. The way muscle builds is like so. When you work out, you actually tear apart your muscle cells. Then your body uses protein to rebuild the cells stronger.
Best way to work out is keep track of what you do. Focus on 2-3 muscle groups a day (IE: Bi-s and Tri-s vs. Lats and delts, vs. chest and back vs quads and hams, vs neck and abs) 5 days a week and no half a$$ing. So keep track of what you do. You should rotate them and work out each muscle group at the same weight (Or go up if you deem it necessary, make sure to notate weights with corresponding exercises) every time so that you get a full body workout over the course of the week. This keeps you from tearing yourself apart top to bottom every day and wind up hating going to the gym. For the workouts themselves. If you want to get big, go for heavier weights. And if you get to the point where you can get 10 reps on a set weight on a set exercise, go up in weight. If you're looking to get ripped or stay ripped, go with lighter weights, and higher reps. |
