this is my writeup i copied and pasted from celicatech.com

its for you guys that want low bass but not earth shattering but still sounds good, yet not overpowering

so as some of you know i have a 6th gen coupe, so im limited on trunk space.

as of right now i have a single 10 in a box but its akward in the trunk so tyler (tnt on here) sold me his oem 03 tiburon sub box with the blown 8 inch woofer.

i read on newtiburon.com that it could be modified to house a 10 inch subwoofer with modification, so i set out to do such mods.

1st off after u remove the sub theres a ring molded into the box where the factory 8 rests, i cut that out with a jigsaw.

then i ran wires into the box using the stock grommet so that the wires can be in the box but air wint leak, plus i put some sealant between the wires and grommet and it was already a tight fit.

i test fitted a alpine type e but the magnet hit the side of the box so i had to cut the mount for the oem sub down as ar as i could

still after i cut it it had a lil bit of a gap so i went to dadyo's discount stereo and bought a 10 inch mdf spacer for 5 dollars.

trimed it to fit the box with the jigsaw, wrapped it in black carpet i had laying around (the kind u get at walmart in the automotive section), and put the sealant between the box surface and spacer. Atached with coarse thread skrews.

finshed product with sub removed, it blew, ordered a pancake subwoffer

the yellow thing is a rag with a paint cap wedged in the hole, eventually ill find a cork or something to plug it with.

heres the sub i ordered

info on sub http://www.amazon.com/Boss-D10F-10-Inch-Di...boutThisProduct

probally will order a mesh grill to give it a clean look, over a waffle grill

btw the box does fit in the drivers side corner of my trunk perfect, ill be using the tiburon bottom bracket and fab up a top one, i had folded small towels wedging it in place before, ill post an installed pic when all of the stuff gets here

heres a pic with the sub itself in the box

ok so in this photo the subwoofer grill ring is placed ontop of the sub and mounted

and heres the grill and mostly complete assembly. i still need to fab a top bracket and find the bottom one. im going to possibly slot the bottom bracket, bull ill have to post pics later and get a jigsaw for that

ok now about that fake port that you may have made real, if u want to leave it u can, my sub sounded worse with it open so i plugged it

i went to ace hardware and got the biggest and next biggest plug they had,(forgot to bring the box with me), and it was a bit to small so i wrapped peel n seal (sound deadening/gutter tape) around the plug a few times tightly and lightly hammered it into the hole. it should work pretty good since its flexible but bonds well.

this is what i looks like in roll fourm

heres a peice i tore off and didnt use

finished plug

ok the plug is fixed now on the putting the base braket back on, i took out the factory hex key skrews and replaced with 4 self tapping hex bolts.

note on the last bolt u either need a short one or do what i did and make a spacer so as it doesnt go though the box

mounted to the wooden floor under the trunk carpet, using self tapping wood skrews and washers, ill later redo this with wing nuts and bolts for a quick and easy dismount/mount

ok the bottom is mounted in but the top still can move. my soloution so far untill i fab a bracket (stock tib ones wont work) was to use a small spray paint cap and fill it with polyurathane, since i had none around i wedged a slightly smaller cap in and this prevented the cap from flexing itself. then i wedged it between the trunk body and the top of the box

and now here is the finished product in relation to the trunk, yes i know my wiring is scattered, ill make it neat later.
