I want to replace my intake manifold and plenum - the plenum is easy, but the manifold itself looks kinda tricky and removing the fuel rail scares me because I've never done it before and have NO idea how to do it properly or what to expect.
Can anyone direct me to a decent how-to, or do a quick write-up for me? Other than disconnecting the battery and not smoking around it, what safety precautions do I need to take when pulling the injectors & disconnecting the fuel rail? I don't at ALL know the proper way to do this, and I don't entirely trust Haynes. -------------------- |

you can do it without touching the fuel rail. but why do you want to replace it? the plenum can be unbolted from the runners, thats pretty self explanatory. but if you want to take off the entire manifold, thats a little tough since the wiring harness is all mounted to it.
look at the pics i posted in the thread i wrote about rebuilding the 7A-FE. i have a few good pics of what you have to deal with. eeekkk, looking at my pictures, it looks like the injectors mount into the manifold and all come off together. that should make it a tad bit easier, but you still have the wiring harness in the way. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=72502 -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
