I spoke to Azian about this subject once and he thought it might make a good topic for conversation, so here you go world wide Celica Experts! See if you can explain this!

I just returned from a trip to Tahara Japan ( former home of the Celica) to tour the new Lexus plant and spent one day with my guide (Judy) thinking I would take one whole day to find the so called "rare" Celica accessories I was looking for. She took me to a Toyota accessory dealer to look for my choices. No recycled stuff only new products. I tried to tell her they'd never have anything I was looking for as they weren't in production any longer, but she insisted they would have what I was looking for. So we went off to Crown Auto Accessories and through her langauge skills I asked the salesman if they had anything for the 94 - 99 Celica and he just stared at us and asked her what I wanted. I had her ask for the rear hatch visor, sunroof wind deflector and a clean box. I was having her explain I didn't have part numbers for the items as he looked at his computer, turned and left for a couple of minutes and returned with everything I asked for. All new in the box. "Rare?" Only if you don't live in Japan! Or at least Tahara Japan. And before you guys start PMing me it won't do any good to get their contact info as they won't ship anything out of Japan. Judy explained later that to ship direct overseas from Japan you have to have an export & customs license that's expensive, so not only do they not want to mess with overseas shipping, without the license they can't. I had to take the stuff to ems and mail it to myself. And if I told you what I paid for this stuff you wouldn't belive me!

Anyway here's the question. Everyone seems to agree that the Celica Clean Box accessory was only sold in the Asian market. So if that is the case why is the Clean Box logo in English? Judy (who has worked for Toyota Corporate for 16 years) didn't have an explanation for this one either. So, what's the answer?
