Cold Air Intake Pipe Diameter Options

Hi Guys,

i am just wondering what would be the best cold air intake pipe diameter for a 3rd gen 3sge with a throttle body of 65mm (2 and 5/8").

my current setup uses 3" diameter which i think is good at the higher rpm range but i feel that i'm losing some in the bottom to mid range.

i wanted to use the same diameter as the throttle body but the only available pipe size in my location is 2.5" only.

do you think that this would be very restrictive at higher rpms?

my car is a daily driver and i use it on the track very seldom. but i run full throttle on the streets whenever possible.

i could swear i felt my buttdyno hp increase when i dumped my eBay filter and got my fujita filter

but im running a 3inch very short ram and i have a very loud exhaust basically straight pipe with one resonator...

its sounds so awesome like 5+rpm the exhaust goes almost silent and all you hear is a loud whistling sucking noise that just makes it all worth it
