Hey guys,
I have the 96-99 fog lights already installed in my car. I was just wondering how can I run them to turn on when you just have the parking lights on? Right now, it only turns on when I put the headlights on. Oh, and I have the OEM light switch for the fog lights and I'm not thinking of running another aftermarket switch just for this. |

One wire, one splice. Done. Your not bypassing the the relay, or doing anything to the switch. The switch sends 12v to the relay, the relay sends 12v to the fogs, fogs light up. ONLY thing that has changed is the fogs come on when you turn on the fog switch. The reason why is you changed to a 12v source with the ign. on, instead of it getting the 12v source that is available ONLY with low beam lights on.

If this works, by all means do it, it's the easiest method of getting control over your fogs. I did this in my current car ('02 Corolla S) and it allows me control over the fog relay. I can hear the relay click at any point if my ignition is on. However, the fogs only turn on when the parking lights or lows/highs are on (from the factory, they ONLY turn on with the lows, not with the parking lights or the highbeams). This is because the foglight power (the high-current circuit, between the #85 and #86 contacts) is only receiving +12v when the TAIL relay is switched on, which only happens when the light switch is on parking lights or lows/highs. It's real annoying. -------------------- ~Moving on to a 2002 Corolla S~ R.I.P Tom Celica - 1994-2010 |
