i went with a lilliput 7in touch panel. its not the best in direct sunlight but it uses ~2.5 watts if u get the LED backlit one. Fits perfectly in the radio hole with a bit of dremel work.

My setup is not the BEST, but it works reliably. My project car will have a much better designed carPC and i will post up the progression in my swap progress thread in my sig.

i have an 800w inverter attatched to my sub box, along with an 800w 4ch amp for the mids and a 1200w monoblock for my 15".
the inverter powers my dual core athlon 64 x2 desktop board, 512 megs ram (faster hibernation) and a 120GB HDD, wireless card. i have XP pro (got it free from work) and currently use no frontend. use winamp for music/videos and delorme street atlas & gps for navigation. i built the machine in the passenger quarter panel behind the rear speaker. the PC uses about 10a while playing music. 1 or so in standby. (@12v)

im leaning towards an miniITX board with an AMD sempron single core, same screen, same ram, maybe a SSD for my 2nd carPC (which will be my 5th carPC build) thinking of going with win7 since i like its mediacenter, but ill need more ram so slower hibernation. im expecting this build to use about 3-4 amps while in use, .25-.5 in standby. (all 12v amperes)
