just as the title, due to the top mount inter-cooler setup on the 3sgte, is the GT4 style hood required for optimal performance? omg, dont mess his head up! it depends what type of intercooler you choose!! if its air-to-air IC from regular ST185 or Caldina, then you HAVE to use IC that sucks air inside and through the intercooler!!! otherwise you would kill your engine as soon as it warmed up and you gave it a full throttle pull! if its water-to-air intercooler from st165, st185 CS/RC or ST205, you can live without it the bonnet. but its not optimal, since the vent on the st205 bonnet is to suck air out of the car. otherwise there would be a lot of pressure in the enginebay and both IC front water cooler and engine radiator would have very little air flow to cool down and you would soon see some cooling problems! in short: air-to-air intercooler - MUST USE bonnet with reverse scoop like st185 (and all subaru cars) water-to-air = st205 bonnet! -------------------- 1994 MR2 SW20, 1990 Celica ST185, both 3SGTE
