just as the title, due to the top mount inter-cooler setup on the 3sgte, is the GT4 style hood required for optimal performance?

just use a front mount intercooler either way, unless you are going with a 3rd gen, i would suggest keeping the water to air.
i CAN however tell you this, since i swaped i have always ran a FMIC. at first i had the ST205 hood on my car and it cooled the engine bay down significantlly. when i put the stock hood back on, and ran the car for a while, i could not even touch the strut bar because it was so damn hot. that gt-4 hood is very functional, and either way it will pull cooler air into the bay. It is not NEEDED to do a swap, as you can see many people running stock hoods with swaps, but i would highly suggest either running a FMIC, W2A, or either one with the gt-4 hood. -------------------- ![]() I"M NOT A TOYOTA FAN, IM A FANATIC 1984 accord hatch 5 speed (T-Belt)-Junkyard 1991 VDUB jetta wolfsburg Ed. 5 speed (clutch)-junkyard 1988 Dodge Aries K (sold) 1969 Chevy El camino - Traded for celica 1991 Dodge Daytona-Traded for Celica 1988 Chevy Camaro-Work in Progress 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 - For Sale 1995 Toyota Celica-Work in Progress |
