I think I have an overheating problem.. Looking at gauges it looks fine, but it heats up pretty fast (about half way+) and EZlube pointed out that my coolant had rust.

When checking the levels of coolant, it looks like it's completely dry. Might have to add distilled water, as I don't know what it's supposed to look like.

On the fan though. Should it run if it's completely cold? Or does it only turn on once the engine is warm?

Do I add water to the plastic overflow reservoir on the right, or straight into the radiator where the metal cap is in the middle?
