If by stickers you are referring to my car then yes there are cars with stickers for over 4000. That does not meat that you need to consider vehicles you can not afford.
There are thousands of celicas in 2000 price range that look bone stock and have 100-180000 miles on them. In some cases you just need to travel out of state. One thing to keep in mind is that any modified car will cost more than a non modified car. Also in most cases it costs double and triple to modify a car than it does to purchase a modified car. Edit: Another thing that I forgot to add is this: Just because a car is listed for something does not mean that you cant bargain for it. Here is an example.. say I was selling a lexus for 35000. KBB list value for personal transactions marks that car at 35000 so person lists it accordingly. If you walk in there with 33000 cash.. person would be a lot more inclined to sell the car than if you came there with 30000 and a check from some creditor. Same goes with used cars... even old used cars. If you make a good offer then a seller who lists his or her car for 4000 could probably bite a lip and sell it for 3500.. which is a heck of a lot better than spending 4000 on buyers part.
