Well this is the second greatest mod i have done to my car...
my first progress thread is here My progress Thread i wanted to do this swap last year but problems came and i had just not enough money to afford a 3sgte. but thanks to Jim i got a WRC 3sgte... by the way thanks a lot jim for everything! the engine arrived a month ago, but i havent had much time to work on it, and since i dont have an engine stand it is harder to work on it.. i might only update the thread once or twice a week, but slowly i will get there. To start, i will do the swap myself with help of some friends, i will not let a mechanic do the job since i dont think it is really hard to do a swap. It will be frustrating at some points but not impossible. Also i want to know what will be under the hood and learn from mistakes. I am not an expert, in fact i do not have much mechanical experience but i know i can do it. so forgive me because i might ask stupid things now and then but i am here to learn. and with the help of this community i know we can pull it off. So please guys help me with advices or questions i might have. the set up= WRC 3sgte with LSD E-153 ok here are 2 pics of the engine the day it arrived, i should of taken more but forgot to, ok its late and need to sleep, will update the thread tomorrow. Ok i havent had much time but with patience i have accomplished this
Painted some engine parts, still need to paint more but they had no more paint at the autozone near me Ok i used the break parts cleaner since it kind of destroys the oil that was covering the parts, be careful thought not to apply it on plastic parts such as gaskets. Some Metallic Silver Blue paint and some clear to give it a shine finish, both of them High Tem Resistant Valve cover done, it needs another layer of clear Heat shield, fixed some dents it had and polished it and it came out awesome. some parts still on the way, if you guys want me to do a How-to on the paint, this is the time since on Thursday i will be painting the rest of the stuff enjoy -------------------- |
