Fog Light Mod, Independant from Headlight Switch? Options

Sorry if this has been covered multiple times and beaten to death, I've searched and didn't come up with anything. Is there any way to modify the fog lights to have them able to turn on with out having the headlights on? I've looked at the circuit and couldn't really see a way to do it, and I couldn't for the life of me get the relay out. I've done this mod on my 05 Corolla and all I had to do was cut a wire coming from the switch and ground it, and on my 05 Tacoma I bent a leg of the relay and tapped into a 12v source. Has anyone done it?

ok i may be crazy but i could turn my sidemarker lights on and switch my fog lights on and they'd comne on, but about a month it stopped and now only come on when my headlights are on
