Hey,
Last night I finally did my first MOD on my 7AFE, (CAI) fitted the pipe, has a whole for the temp sensor, and one for a breather tube, but I closed this off as i had no where to put a breather tube.
My issue is that when i first start the car it makes a lot of noise like you can hear it sucking up the air and the rev's are about 600 higher than normal, then once the engine heats up it stops making the noise at the rev's drop back down.

I'm guessing this isn't normal? anyone got any ideas why its doing it?

thanks in advance.

The intake noise at start up is normal, but the idling high sounds like you have a vac leak. on usdm spec 7afes there is just the temp sensor that when into the intake box originally.

I would look for a vacuum line that isnt connected and either try to figure out where it went, or plug it up.

It's not a temp sensor. The only thing that goes into the intake tubes for 7AFE's is the MAP sensor. Trust me, I've got one lol
