Question has anyone fitted 215/45/16 over 7gen rims and have pics?
Is there much over sidewall? Will there be much negative gain for having 215/45 over 16x6.5? I know my speedo will be faster than what im travelling. Which is clearly not a bad thing and i can manage that. Just worried about handling and grip terms. And what is the stock tyre fitment for a 7gen rim? Or even 205/40 ? cause right now on my 7gen they are 205/50 and i like the ration of tyre wall. And running 40 will mean a gap between guard and tyre, making me want to drop my car more to compensate. But last time i had the 7gen rims the lowest point on the car was 7.5cm and i dont really want to go any lower! Tyres currently in mind are KU36, R1R and RT615 This post has been edited by whatthe: Sep 5, 2010 - 9:42 AM -------------------- |

My guess is that the 40mm sidewall would be way to small and you would feel to many bumps. I have a 7 inch wide rim.
yokohoma recommends that I get 205/45R16 for my 7 inch wide rims. So it looks like I will be buying those tires soon... check the 7th generation celica gt-s rims thread... plenty of pics on their with different tire setup. you just have to ask members what tires they are running...
