Before the clutch is pressed down all the way, there is a PSST sound (air), and my clutch is super softer than before. And it harder to get into gear unless i slam on the clutch. I tried to find where the sound is coming from underneath where the pedal is but i can't locate it. Does anyone have any ideas what could be loose or needs to be tightened?

Not at all. Master cylinder is at the firewall, right underneath the reservoir for clutch fluid. Your slave cylinder is right on the transmission, right of the exhaust manifold if you're looking at it from the front. I had this same problem; It's your master cylinder. You might as well replace the slave cylinder too because it's only about 25$. The master cyl is a bit more expensive. Good luck! Installation is not too complicated; if you can bleed it you can probably install it. Take the nut/hairclip off the pushrod behind your pedal inside of the car, take the two nuts off the master cyl holding it onto the firewall (one should be inside the car, and the other outside) disconnect the lines, then pop that puppy out of there.
