I've got a book at home called Rally Cars that has this picture in it, but I've never seen it online until recently. Admittedly, the picture in the book is much lager, but I still think it's a pretty neat pic nonetheless-
This photo was taken at TTE's headquarters in Cologne, Germany during development of the Celica Twin Cam Turbo aka "the whistling pig". Extensive endurance testing was performed during the development of the race-spec 3T-GTE in order for it to stay competitive during select endurance rallies in the Group B era (the whistling pig was one of the last RWD cars in a time when AWD was nearly universally used). The testing paid off, as the car's most notable success was a hat-trick of Safari wins from 1984 to 1986. If it wasn't for the racing success of the whistling pig, Toyota would have never bothered with creating the GT-Four This post has been edited by saleeka: Sep 20, 2010 - 3:38 PM -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
