Well , all went well and i got the 97 st yesterday! I was determined to get it, and i went through alot...
I got up at 7 am to leave to get it.... But my parents didn't show up until 8 45 when we had to be there at 9, but i convinced the guy to call off work so we could get it yesterday.. haha... after that we were finally on the road, but 30 minutes into the trip a Tire blew out on the tow dolly!!! i think god seriously wanted me to get this celica because it blew out right in front of a salvage yard and after spending ten dollars and 20 minutes finding the right tire, i was able to get it switched onto the rim! they even gave me the tools to take it off and put it back on thankfully!! After that i finally made it to the garage where it was at and was checking it out and the guy showed up... i was wondering how i was going to get the car onto the dolley since it needed a new engine... but oh my did i luck out!! Soooo.. all thats wrong is it has the slightest tick i've ever heard in my life... my dad (30 year mechanic At prat and whitney for the military) said its just a bearing i think if i remember correctly! So anyways i was able to start it up and drive it right up onto the dolley! And if thats the case, if all goes well i should have this baby back up and running on the road within a couple weeks check her out!! QUOTE but yeah, i'm learning ALOT from this, and i never thought i would be able to do all this on my own! but with all your guys help, its wayyyyyyyyy easier then i ever thought possible! alot of people get intimidated by cars since there seems to be a billion things to learn. But once you get into it you realize that there is just a collection of basic systems to understand. And once you understand those, all the different combinations and approaches used by the oem's boils down to common sense. To this day I'm amazed at how ppl let themselves get ripped off at shops. . . but yea, good thing you're not one of those ppl. keep learning and keep updating! -------------------- |
