are there any alternatives to the factory GT4 calipers that aren't $1,300+?
Its one of the few hardware pieces i'm missing for my project. I doubt my stock GT calipers are strong enough to handle & judging by the size difference in hubs, even big enough to consider using. any help is appreciated |

I have an idea of a double piston caliper that may fit, but need to try it. illl keep updated. which one mystery man ? well i have seen some lexus es330 with dual piston, but have yet to get ahold of one, they look very similar to ours, but have to look for a cheap one, as its trial an error. when you get a hold of it, bolt it on and measure the distance from the hub to the center line of the caliper( there is usually a cast line right on the center of it ), then add 1/2 of the disc brake thickness to that number ( ES300 disc ) and you'll get the height needed for the caliper to work with no modification, if the number is higher than 56 mm you'll need to grind some from the inner side of the caliper bracket to bring it to or around 56. any disc with an offset higher than 56 mm will touch the ball joint during hard cornering. that's why I use a 3 mm spacer on my cadillac catera disc ( 58.2 mm height ) good luck and hopefully you find that caliper for dirt cheap.
