Has anyone actually done it? I'm not planning to do this as a permanent type thing; my car just sits too high. I just need to know if it's possible. And what you guys would recommend. Thanks!

ah crap... *puts torch away*

on a serious note. springs are cheap.
do what you want, but if u fck it up, dont blame us.
even the oober cheap springs on ebay are probably BETTER than cutting.
if you cut the spring, you will be more likely to bottom out than with an equal sized lowering spring
