Hi all,
Please can someone save me from a life of despair and depression. 1996 1.8 ST UK Model Long story short, bought my G6 a year ago (August 2009), two previous owners, FSH (including every receipt etc). After two weeks started to smoke badly. Went travelling came back Jan2010. Wanted to fix car. Decided to buy another engine and pop it in, only thing is I got ripped by some guy on ebay, sold me a 7AFE for an Avensis not Celica. So then decided to do a full rebuild on the original engine. When I took out the original and striped turned out the oil rings where sticking hence smoke. Due to hectic life, only just finished the rebuild. I have rebuilt the head, valves ground (hours of rubbing my hands together, I have the blisters to prove it!), new oil seals etc. Also replaced pistons, piston rings, all engine bearings, oil pump, timing belt, replaced all engine gaskets etc etc etc. I was pretty pleased when I had finished and had the engine back into the car. As there were no other problems prior to it smoking I was expecting her to fire up, she didnt. Not even close really, the engine just turns. Without being rude, I have checked all the obvious. Made sure the loom has been intalled correctly. There is petrol making it into the cylinders, a spark making it to the plugs(had the cap off to make sure signal is going to the correct plug), the timing is all ok as I have triple check it . I don't know why she wont start, after putting alot of cash into the car to give her a brand new lease of life I feel like hitting my head against the wall. I can not think of what it is that is not allowing the car to start ( I have turned off immobilizer before you ask) Please can someone help, very frustrated that all the hard stuff is done and probably something very simple stopping her from starting. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Devan This post has been edited by CA18DET: Oct 24, 2010 - 12:35 PM |
