bought a welder from HF. LOL, its fun, wish i had more metal to play with. First timer, only 10 mis of experience.. Splatter is my specialty. Got to be less afraid... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL

best advice i can give as a welder is with machines like that is get lotsa practice, from that pic it looks like ur heat is too low and ur wire is too high ur getting a buldge effect or "cold roll" but for a first go thats pretty good most ppl blow holes in verything when they weld. as for splatter thats gonna be controled by ur heat/wire speed and how clean the metal is. has nothing to do with fluxcore wire, get ur self a good chipping hammer and u just skip the blade part across your material and the spatter comes right off,
as for welding vertical stuff ur not the only one who enjoys it lol im a pressure pipe welder by trade and i love it, when i can find work anyways keep up the good work its really handy to have a welder in ur garage -------------------- i hate snow, missing my celica |
