This is the story of my car.
I bought my '94 GT from a man in Ootewah, TN in June right before my 17th birthday. It was a internet listing... It looked beautiful in the pictures, so of course I was very excited about $3,000 price covered by an insurance claim from wrecked Maxima (may it rest in peace). I drove 2 hours to find the car and when I arrived... shoot, it was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. It had a crappy body kit not made for a Celica stuck on with tiny rivets and some kind of caulk, classy flame/lightning bolt decals that had worn down to the sticky, the 18" silver rims had so much clay dust on them they were red, the front bumper at one point had a plate attached and was never repaired, broken high beam and good lord the paint... Plus a couple minor mechanical things, no biggy. I could fill a whole page with the bad. I loved it! I've always been a Celica fan so I took it and promised I'd do all the work myself... So far in 3 months I have replaced a ruined driver's door and a rusted out hatchid. I removed the side skirts, cut them, extended them with fiberglass and am now molding them back on (the whole kit myself). I bought a Kombat front bumper and have to bend the frame to fit (hit and run in the former life)... I am repainting it myself... Little update.
I am painting the car in march for sure, its too cold to do it now. But I have it all planned and priced out so I'm major looking forward to it. The more immediate things I want done is to fix the suspension then definately a supra wing ![]() And here is the ONE picture of my car before I started work on it. It may seem raggidy no, but at least it's not this anmore: ![]() Just remembered there weren't even grills in the holes on the skirts back then... Not sure whos idea that was... but fixing that is exactly why it's takin so long. Hopefully I'll have more time to work on it and some more picures before too long. -Neil P.S. If anyone is interested in trading my 18s for some stock 6th or 7ths, the roads here are just too rough for my wheel/tire set up and I can't keep tires on it for more than a month so i want smaller rims to paint and larger tires. Don't go by the picture in this post they've been cleaned and have new caps since then. This post has been edited by nwizzle: Dec 13, 2010 - 9:09 PM |
