I've been in the market for a miata for a while now and I've found one I really like. Problem is, its red. I've always had white/black/aquamarine (my '64 impala) cars. I'm concerned that I'll get more attention from the po-po with a red car. Anyone care to comment? i drive real fast here in dallas, but the cops are pretty laid back about speeding, they have better things to do. When I'm on long road trips I'm usually doing 5-15 over if the conditions are good and traffic isn't bad.

I think that color plays a part in cops' attention towards you, along with if your car is a sports car or not. I've been pulled over probably 10-12 times in The Celica, and gotten one ticket out of those times, and that was for impersonating a police officer, not speeding or anything. Most of the time I got pulled over for stupid stuff like not having a front license plate, going 34 in a 30, turning into the far lane like everyone else instead of the close one, etc.
Now for the past five months I've driven a gold Audi 90 that has never had a front license plate, a green '00 Camry, and a red Chevy S10. I drive just as fast in these vehicles, and often faster because I know I can get away with it. And in the last five months, I have not been pulled over once. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
