I'm used to 6gc giving me a weird message from time to time when I click one one of the link to go back to the main forum or specific forum (i.e., 6G Celicas Forums > Other > Website Discussion.) I used to get messages such as "Error: 404" and things like that. Lately, I've been clicking those links and the page will load for a little while, nothing will happen, and eventually, I'll get a popup menu from 6gc, as if I just downloaded a file.
Sorry for the poor description. It's 2 a.m. here and I'm pretty tired. I just don't know what this popup window is about and why 6gc isn't loading right, and if anybody else gets anything like this. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I haven't had this happen on my Mac, but I rarely use Firefox on it either. I use Chrome, but often get a Page Cannot Be Displayed or similar error and the only way to get it to display is through Google's cached copy (this doesn't happen with 6gc, just some other random websites).
Perhaps the browser somehow disassociated itself with PHP files (or the page is not rendering correctly in your version of Firefox and thinks it is supposed to download it instead of display the file) you could try Open With and choose Firefox, and check the box that says "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." If that doesn't work, and presuming you're using the latest version of Firefox, another thing you could try is to revert back to a 3.5.x version and see if this fixes your problem, unless you have a reason to have the latest version it shouldn't be a noticeable downgrade and will potentially fix the problem (really the only noticeable difference is that 3.6.x supports skins for the browser's interface). Here is 3.5.16 if you want to give it a try- http://mac.oldapps.com/firefox.php?app=71d...ac7a2fd0e415870 |
