even if you adjust the 8mm bolts behind the headlights, you will still have a similar cut off light pattern that points higher towards oncoming traffic. although they don't blind oncoming traffic as bad as projectors so i wouldn't worry too much about getting pulled over. but if you're concerned about DOT stamping, a real fix would be to swap the lenses, or just replace the whole headlight assembly with a LHD set. the only benefit of having the jdm non-projector lamps are the little parking lights integrated in the housing.
