Heya,
I've been wondering about doing this conversion for a while now... I have a complete SSII sat in my drive. The Mcpherson on my car is in need of some TLC and thought i'd give transplanting it off the doner a go instead. Just wondering if someone can help me with a few things. Most information out there seems to be going the other way, from SS to McP. I've heard mixed things on if i need to remove the whole steering rack and put that in as well, some people seem to say the tie rods are shorter on the SS setup. Just from looking at it i can't really see a big difference. Also looking to slap the twin pots onto the front, guessing that will go with no issues? The only thing that concerns me is the spline on the driveshafts, do i need to use the shafts from the old car as well? Thanks for any help you can give me, feel free to call me mad for wanting to do this as well. -nix |

Would love to get some coilies for it but don't think i can stretch that far right now, and yeah we've got the same bad boiz around here with Civics and the like.
Not sure i was 100% clear on this, but i have two ST202s, one 94 JDM SSII (sadly not a red top ) and another UKDM ST202. Someone has managed to put a con rod through the bottom of the block in the SSII and its been left to rot for a while, so that's a no go. Bought it cheap for the LSD. Am I right in understanding that you're saying I need a new lower arm to make it fit, is this a different part to the ones on the SSIIs? That thread has some great info in it, thanks for that. I still can't quite picture in my head how it moves when the car is rolling though... thanks -nix |
