I've been in the market for a miata for a while now and I've found one I really like. Problem is, its red. I've always had white/black/aquamarine (my '64 impala) cars. I'm concerned that I'll get more attention from the po-po with a red car. Anyone care to comment? i drive real fast here in dallas, but the cops are pretty laid back about speeding, they have better things to do. When I'm on long road trips I'm usually doing 5-15 over if the conditions are good and traffic isn't bad.

I can tell you from first hand experience, that red does attract more attention, period. It doesn't have anything to do with cops, but it has everything to do with how your eye perceives color.
Honestly, if you were to take a look at two cars, one black, and one red, your eyes would need more input from the black car to make out the fine details of it. Cherry red cars are just more noticable. Take a look in my profile for pics of my ****ING RED car and understand that i've been singled out & pulled over about 8 times on the past 6 months, for absolutely nothing. Oh, red is also good for when the cops let you off with a warning, and they compliment the ride. |
